A common web portal for the recruitment process will be adopted to centralise and unify admissions information and stimulate applications from potential candidates by promoting transparency and consistency in the information provided. The centralised model for administrative procedures avoids creating a situation where in different institutions or countries, guidelines and even admission criteria might be not accessible to all on equal terms.
After preliminary assessment, the So.Re.Com. Joint-IDP Co-ordinator and Project Leader prof. Annamaria de Rosa, assisted by the So.Re.Com. Joint-IDP Executive Committee, will review the applications received. Successful applicants will be chosen taking into consideration the comparative analysis of qualifications, of the dossier and an interview with the Scientific co-ordinator and other members of the Scientific Supervisory Board via European PhD web-auditorium interactive video-conference system.
All applicants will be treated equally and selection made on a competitive basis. Some flexibility concerning length and sites of secondment will be allowed, consistent with the number, scientific profiles and research programme status of successful applicants.
The eligibility criteria are set out in accordance with the FP7-PEOPLE-2013-ITN Guide for applicants (pag.15) “Early-Stage Researchers must (at the time of recruitment by the host organisation): be in the first four years (full-time equivalent research experience) of their research careers and not yet have a doctoral degree. This is measured from the date when they obtained the degree which would formally entitle them to embark on a doctorate, either in the country in which the degree was obtained or in the country in which the research training is provided, irrespective of whether or not a doctorate is envisaged”. In accordance with physical and virtual mobility and other training requirements, trainees will be fully integrated into the appropriate research units’ programme coherently with the specific focus of the research project.
