I. Network-wide Training Events

10 Scientific Training events are foreseen during the project's life cycle (2014-2017). As indicated in the chart below, the events will include three winter intensive training sessions (2015-2017) dedicated to the co-operative research programme on the meta-theoretical analysis of the literature on social representations and communication and expanding the S.R. & C Intelligent Virtual Library, three spring intensive training sessions (2015-2017) focused on Specific Training on complementary and transferable skills provided by the non-academic partners, and four International Summer Schools (2014-2017) open to wider dissemination via the EuroPhD web-auditorium. The last Summer School will also represent the Final Conference (2017) for dissemination of the results of the various research teams.

  • Sapienza University of Rome – Italy, in addition to the core training activity in meta-theoretical analysis of the whole body of literature on social representations, specific training in the multi-methodological modelling approach to social representations and communication, including analysis of social representations co-produced by new media, the combination of textual and image-based research design and innovative ad hoc created research tools, the application of multiple data strategies of analysis and statistical software to the same set of data;

III. Training on complementary and tansferable skills (provided by non-academic partners)

  • CONERI – Sweden: Courses in communication and team processes related to online meetings and conferences. Research trainees actively participate in organising e-meetings and virtual team building and communication processes related to online meetings.
  • ContattoLavoro s.r.l – Italy: Born in 2000, ContattoLavoro s.r.l. is a consulting firm operating in the human resources field characterized by a social psychological multi- methodological approach. After its first year of activities it launched its online recruiting platform www.contattolavoro.it. Today, the platform counts 750,000 applications and a prestigious network of top employer organizations. As an employer-branding specialized corporation, its 10-year expertise in selecting, recruiting and training, and dealing with top employers around the world can offer to trainee researchers an opportunity to develop advanced skills demanded on the labour market, such as: entrepreneurship, employer branding, qualitative and quantitative analysis, new media and training on WEB 2.0 corporate identity management, and design and implementation of corporate blogs, forums and wiki websites. Early research trainees can also be trained in small-company entrepreneurship skills, including sales and marketing, multi-layered identity.
  • IFSTTAR – France: A large public and technical research institution jointly supervised by the French Ministries of Research and of Sustainable Development, born from the fusion of INRETS and LCPC. Thanks to the multidisciplinary characteristic of its research teams (including researchers, engineers, urban planners, technicians, administrators in disciplines such as epidemiology, ergonomics, psychology, statistics, telecommunication, sociology and artificial intelligence), research trainees seconded to IFSTTAR are be exposed to a diversity of approaches used by their research unit GRETTIA (Génie des Réseaux de Transports Terrestres et Informatique Avancée) in their various research projects and to research management (including IPR & commercial exploitation of results) and organisation piloting in fundamental applied fields.

Due to the applied nature and the range of discipline and expertise involved, IFSTTAR is one of the public research institutions with the highest number of collaborations with several multinational companies, as for example Renault, Peugeot and Toyota. Therefore, the institutional cooperation established by the European/International Joint PhD with IFSTTAR is a privileged channel for enrolled researchers to gain access to important multinational companies. The other two private sector partners, ContattoLavoro and CONERI, are smaller internationalized enterprises but more diversified in information technologies and in communication and marketing sectors.
